Chr15j
Went to Germany in the Audi TT for a family do over the weekend and decided it would be rude not to take advantage of the German Autobahns. Top indicated speed of 145MPH!!! Very fun, ended up cruising at about 110-120, driving through holland on the way back felt positively pedestrian. Don't know if the TT 2.0TDi is meant to be able to do this but it was good fun, I recommend everyone does it at least once! Most impressive was the fuel economy over the whole journey! About 46mpg! just wish I had done it in my x-type jag before I sold it. I think that was good for about 150.

Livefast123
80 Mph was scary enough (due to car) when I drove my Crumball Rally Fiat Tempra back from Munich to Weston Super Mare non stop. Top class roads, something Britain should emulate Edited May 31, 2012 by Livefast123
WelshLamb
Britain isn't big enough to emulate the autobahns :( Glad you had fun! I love Germany, cracking country
Chr15j
Fuel was cheap also. About €1.40 a litre for diesel (mine) but €1.80 for unleaded Whole journey only cost me £130, would have been best part of £180 if I had paid uk fuel prices! And at the speeds I was driving god knows how much in fines! Prob ultimately would have saved me, no rent at er majesties pleasure plus with a ban no car tax or insurance etc! Hmmmm maybe I should toe it in the uk!

Chr15j
Indicated it was doing 145, but sat nav stated 138. Official figures are 140. Bear in mind I had a full car (wife and daughter) plus luggage and full tank of fuel, so not surprising I didn't get the absolute top speed.
