flyshooter
Could any of you folk give me any info' on a chrony, make, model, price etc. I only use my A.A. s410 for vermin and nead to know the poundage it produces. At the moment I'm only getting nine and a half pounds at between 150 to 180 pressure, going up to ten and a quarter at between 100 to 150 pressure, belowe 100 it starts to drop off again. I nead a chrony once in a blue moon so don't want to pay for the all singing all danceing models, Thanks for any info, Gel.

Might I introduce you to the humble Combro CB624! Combro Supplied with batteries included and they have been tried and tested against all of the big name boys and found to be just as accurate! secretagentmole
No probs, keeps British Industry going, the guy who runs the company is excellent. If you shoot the case, it is £7.50 inc p+p for a new case to be fitted. To align simply use a 4.5mm knitting needle for .177 or a 5.5mm for .22, make sure it goes past the sensors (easily seen when looking at it). Very easy to use! NIGHT SEARCHER
The cromby crono MK4 is Brilliant it is accurate to within 1% . I have 7 PCPs and only 1 is regulated so the crono was great for finding the power curves of each Rifle . I have two Rifles a Daystate and a Logun that don`t like to be filled over 170 Bar if i put more in the power drops right off 4 ftlb at 200 Bar 11.8 ftlb at 160 Bar then good for 70 shots down to 80 Bar . They come up for sale on here or ebay i got mine of here for £30 posted as new and it was . Your Air Arms sounds like its ready for a new hammer spring it makes all the Difference . But you need a crono to make sure you don`t go over the 12 ftlb . I got 3 new Hammer springs 2 Logun 1 Daystate of www.gunspares.co.uk Chambers they were all £3.50 each plus postage . I had to have an adjuster made for the Daystate because with the new spring in it she was doing 15 ftlb so after a lot of messing she is now doing 11.8 ftlb Happy Days . Happy

Happy Thanks for that NIGHT SEARCHER, I am going to strip mine down on Monday after I've dry fired the air chamber empty. I thought it might be a sticking hammer rod but will now look closely at the spring. I think my .22 is an older model as there are no tamper proof lugs covering the alan screws belowe the trigger houseing. Thought it best to get a chrono incase I have to adjust the air valve, Gel. NIGHT SEARCHER
How is it saving money buying an F1 Crono . New they are over a £100 . They need a lot light to work i had one and it just didn`t like to work indoors . The Cromby MK 4 dose the job well and works in poor light and is a third of the price of an F1 . The only reason you would need an F1 is if you are a gunshop or if you want to test Rim-fire or Centre-fire Rifles .

secretagentmole
save your money and buy a f 1 chrono, worth every penny and easier used Like hell! The Combro works out foot pound energy and will display feet per second too, will also display in metres per second and joules as well... The F1 measures speed only, will not work out what energy is produced, meaning that there is a possibility that manual error can creep in the calculations and bug everything up! Also can you put the F1 in a pocket, take it with you and if the police interfere prove you are shooting sub 12 foot pound? Nope, thought not! NIGHT SEARCHER
I see it got your back up as it did mine. There`s some right on here. MK4 Cromby crono are Brilliant. Edited June 4, 2012 by NIGHT SEARCHER
secretagentmole
The only problem with a Combro is it cannot be used on some pistols and rifles due to odd shaped barrels or barrel housing. Underlevers particularly can be a bit of a sod to figure out, but it is usually possibly given a decent cup of coffee and half an hour!
