Frenchieboy
I went out for a walk with the .22LR early this morning as it looked such a nice way to start the day off. Got to the farm and spotted the farmer getting the cows in for milking so we stuck a hand up to acknowledge each other and I went on my way. I had just got into the field near the covered yard when a young black calf decided to befriend me. The little devil would not leave my side and followed me about wherever I went! The first shot was just a few seconds later at a rabbit towards the top of the banking (Still with a safe backstop) at about 90 yards. I took it out cleanly with one shot while my new mate stood by my side and didn't even bat an eye lid! I didn't realise till I got up the top of the bank in the field to retrieve the rabbit that this calf had followed me all the way up When I started to walk back down the little monkey decided (With a little eclouragement) to walk all the way back down near enough to heal! It seemed to be getting so attached to me I thought about trying to train it to retrieve for me, but that might take a bit too long! Anyway. a little while further on I spent about 20 minutes watching 5 very well developed fox cubs playing around in the morning sun, still with my new friend stood by my side bellowing away. Because I only had my small pocket camera with me the video of them was second to useeless. - I will go back at the next possible opportunity with my usual camcorder and tripod to video them properly before I start to thin them out once they start hunting with the vixen. This is going to have to be done as there are 3 earths on the same farm, all with cubs! A little further on I dropped a wood pigeon from on top of a fence post, so that was breakfast sorted out. All in all it has been a great way to start the day off even though only two shots had been fired which goes to prove my point that you don't need to shoot at everything you see while out shooting to enjoy yourself. I have had a nice tasty wood pigeon breast omolette for breakfast, I have edited and processed the video and now I am off out with the wife to treat myself to a new pair of rigger boots. Here's the video that I thouroughly enjoyed making while enjoying a "perfect start to the day"! If the rest of the day goes as well as it started I will be a happy little man! Edit: After watching the video maybe I ought to change my name to "Doctor Doolittle"! Edited June 12, 2012 by Frenchieboy

Frenchieboy
Nice clip Pete.Very envious you have friends you can see, mine are all imaginary. Oh dear Davey, those "imaginary friends" can be a bit of a nuisance can't they, especially when they keep making the bar sway while you are working so hard at trying to keep it steady! How many "wee drams" have you had mate? Edited June 12, 2012 by Frenchieboy

Frenchieboy
Great vid, you have a new subscriber Thanks for that mate! I have just clicked on to your channel and returned the compliment! I watched your video on the Rabbit and Mushroom Stew, very tasty looking! I do a very similar one but I only use one chicken stock cube and I add a glass of cider in place of the second stock cube. You might like to try it at some time. I will watch your other videos as soon as I have time, particularly the recipes as I like to try new takes on cooking what I shoot!
