Keeping a fox brush

Can anyone tell me the best way to preserve/cure a fox brush? My nephew has been asking for one which he wants to skin, cure and keep for some purpose. Treating skins is never been something I've got into. I've got him a brush from a little vixen to get him started. At the moment its in the freezer. How should he go about treating it?

Thanks everyone.

Couple of questions: Do they stay supple with meths and the hair stay in? What about salt? Doesn't dry them out and make them stiff?

Obviously they're going to be inside out after boning. Do they go in the meths like that or is it better to turn them back the right way first?

Take it off the bone and fill it full of salt and leave it in the garage for a couple off months and its done

Never had any luck with meths as the hair seems to fall out

I'll pass all this useful info on to the lad and advise him to experiment to find the best way. I can soon get him a few more tails. As to why he wants them, who knows. You get these ideas when you're twelve. Still, it will get him in the habit of spending long hours in the shed, which is as it should be. Best to start 'em early.
