gixer11
Hi All New to this forum and new to pigeon shooting. I have been busting clays for a year now and the time has come when I now feel fairly confident with my shooting and fancy my chances with the feathered type. Bought my first shotgun back in April the new Browning B725. I have a few contacts in the Dales where I may be able to get a few days rough shooting. I would really like to start pigeon shooting around my own area. I have contacted a club but there are no memberships availible till October. Is there anyone locally that would be willing to show me the ropes. Just walking the dog around the area I have seen the devastation these birds can cause. I can shoot midweek as well as weekends as I work offshore. Andy

Bionic Man
Hello and welcome. Think I went to a nightclub in Yarm when I was at Catterick many years ago, or I could be very mistaken!
gixer11
Hello and welcome. Think I went to a nightclub in Yarm when I was at Catterick many years ago, or I could be very mistaken! That would be correct the Cross Keys in Yarm itself. Could have been club M on the outskirts. My guess as would be the Keys also known locally as the Claggy Mat! If you stood in one place too long you stuck to the carpet. Its a lot more up market now and it even had a visit from Prince Harry a few years ago. He was also doing a stint at Catterick. Flew up in an army chopper.
Bionic Man
Thanks for the info......Yep, it was the Cross Keys. Didn't go there in a helicopter, think it was a van, but can't remember much. Must have had a dirty glass! All the best with finding someone to show you the ropes. Cheers
