Will Poon
£500 pounds or so for a pair of CENS and you get no bloody batteries it's like buying 1000 Eley VIPs They go bang but there's no pellets in them
Carson
how long are the batterys sposed to last ? Off the top of my head, about 300 hours. £500 pounds or so for a pair of CENS and you get no bloody batteries it's like buying 1000 Eley VIPs They go bang but there's no pellets in them  Lol, and the rest!!! Yea, was a bit surprised to say the least, hardly much to ask given the cost. Maybe I'll get a complimentary packed as an apology for forgetting the batteries.....Well, here's hoping anyway. Will Poon
Hey Carson I'm only joking pal about the batteries I'm sure the company you got them from will sort something out for you, they must be good as alot of clay shooters have them, To be honest I'm waiting on my ACS hearing protectors very similar to yours , I would have ordered the CENS but I thought they were only battery operated but I see you have the option to change them around , as the ACS are passive only protectors happy shooting pal :good:
Dominicrobed
The passive inserts must be new , just had a look on their web site think I might go and pay them a visit and buy some up grades Edited August 5, 2012 by Dominicrobed
scotty38
Off the top of my head, about 300 hours. I thought I'd check the website as I don't get anywhere near that from my batteries but the small print says the batteries discharge even when switched off so that may well explain it...... I take my batteries out after each use as I find leaving them in when no in use drains the batteries , im thinking of doing the up graid of only £39. retromlc
i have a black pair with orange inserts for the battery set, personally I'd go for brighter one if I choose again<I've dropped one before in the field and spent a very worrying 20 minutes looking for them<if they had been brighter I might not have spent so long.I've also flicked out the eletronics by accident before, luckily in the back of a LandRover, they are real small and another sweaty 10 mins, fortunately I spotted the Orange cap in all the rubbish. the way to make your battery last longer is to re-apply the little tab that is on the battery,it slows it down a bit. skabo1
If you go for sodium yellow, you know the same as the glasses will you be able to hear the clay better on a dull day?
retromlc
If you go for sodium yellow, you know the same as the glasses will you be able to hear the clay better on a dull day? a scientificly proven truth Now why didn't I think of that plus I won't need the upgrade now.... once the batteries are activated then they drain regardless, they are hearing aid batteries. scotty38
once the batteries are activated then they drain regardless, they are hearing aid batteries. Ah ok. Now I've not looked so there may be a perfectly good reason why not but can't we just use "normal" batteries then?
welshwarrior
Hearing aid barriers are very small I don't know but that's probably the only reason as you would need big ears to fit a d cell battery in your ear plug, check what prince Charles wears
hillmouse
Battery life is a nuisance, or rather lack of it. Air batteries and they do discharge from the second you pull the tab off whether in use or not. If you put your CENS away for a while take the batteries out. I have had them rust in mine. Not good. Not good. sorry to disagree, but they do discharge from when you take the tab off,I know the General Manager for the company that makes CENS and he used to run one of the biggest hearing aid batterry companies UK division for a USA company,so i going to believe him
