Templar 84
Second proper outing and first ton! absolutely over the moon, fantastic day thoroughly enjoyed it! Thank you again Terry . We arrived at a farm with the sky literally blue, we picked a spot which they had been hitting pretty hard over the last few days, trees infront to the right and behind. Set up the pattern and the magnet, got into the hide and we were ready. We had downed 5 birds in as many minuets, nice breeze on our backs the birds were flying around behind the field behind us and landing in front, superb. All in all we shot around 125 birds, picked 97, some ended up in dense woodland, others in areas of the crop that had not been hit and that we were certainly not going to damage by attempting to retrieve the downed birds. Terry did some amazing shooting, left right pairs it was a pleasure to watch, we swapped guns during the second half of the session. My shot of the day was a bird from right to left at around 60ish yds, not bad for the second shot with a semi-auto! Long shot, first pair, and first ton. All in all a fantastic day, with some real good sport, certainly won’t forget it. Image below with my take home.

Yes we missed some really easy birds, but we were there for the learning. One of the last shots James took, was a high incoming bird, (yes he was a little impatient but excitement kicks in)30+yards up 40+yards out, came down dead as :hmm: "dead pigeon should come down" It is always a shape when you have to leave birds in the field, but we would have done more damage then the Pigeons. I picked 5 up this morning when I was over at the shoot setting up another shooter to keep the farm covered.

PhilR
Well done a very good bag. I was about 150yds from you and saw the constant stream of birds heading your way the few hours I was there. I shot 34 and managed to pick all mine bar seven which dropped into the standing crop. Apparently another gun out on the farm shot 140 odd too.
