Yoggy
Hi Lads, I`ve never used this shop and there are a couple of things I`m tempted to buy...Just wondered if anyone have used them in the past and can vouch for their service before I part with my cash!!??. Cheers, Yog.
Reabrook
I've never used them but was tempted to buy a a few widgeon decoys earlier in the year. Almost wish I had bought them earlier as I see they have virtually doubled in price. Can't see as I'll be paying £80+ for half a dozen rubber ducks!! Yoggy
Hi Lads, Yes I agree, alot of companies now are jumping on the band wagon. Must admit there is no way I`d spend 80 quid on 6 decoys!!!!. I dont mind paying for a quality gun or clothing but a rubber duck is a no no!! I still use the decoys I bought in the early 80`s!!!....ok some are worst for wear and have had a little paint job, but they still bring the duck in. Wildfowler12
i would rather go old school and use toilet roll sheets (white). or chip cartons on sticks for wigeon . Peter, have you had much success with this method? I've heard it a few times, the more experienced (older) fowlers in our club swear by the chip carton method but I've never tried it. It could be a good way to add bulk to a pattern?
anser2
You do not have to pay £80 for a box of decoys. There some reasonable decoys avalable on Ebay from China for £1 each , mallard and teal. True most will need a touch up of paint to give them the true colours , but the shape is good and a bit of paint will not add much to the cost. I have to say they are not going to last as long as quality GH\Avery\flamblue|Sportplast decoys , but with a bit of care you should get a number of seasons out of them. I gather the big hike in quality decoy price is mainly due to a big increase in the price and in the grade of plastic used in making them. sitty tree
imho. i dont really worry about the paint job on decoys because at dawn and dusk in the semi dark they only see shapes not colours. and do a good job of the feeding call . works wonders. Pezaisahunter
I wouldn't worry about the service that the company offers. I have known the propriotor of the business for nearly 2 years now and he is very easy and fanastic to get on with and I myself have bought several lots of duck decoys at VERY great prices. Bearing in mind the gear does come from ACROSS THE POND. Hope this helps

I'm sure he is a very nice bloke and I'm sure he is very easy to deal with but the prices are not even good never mind very great. £80 for 6 decoys is to mind just to much no matter where they have been imported from. I'm very much you get what you pay for and have no objection to paying for quality - which GHG are - but everything has it's limits.

I`ve had mine for over 6 years and its the most waterproof jacket I`ve owned. Although a little dark, after a few trips out the mud makes it far more "camo friendly". Brilliant Jacket. The Pound Shop, or whatever it is called, in Lowestoft had some of these about 5 years ago. They were selling them as garden ornaments! Pavman and myself bought about 4 dozen of them. Fantastic decoys - still going strong. Paint job is not bad and soon dulls down. Had a hard life in our boats on the estuaries. Been horribly abused. Super bargain. xav
If you ever travel to France, check the sport outlet Decathlon (similar to J&B but being French, with a huge section dedicated to shooting). They store all possible duck decoys (and also pigeons) and I once got 12 teals for 12 Euros: as good as Sportplast. There is one in Calais and Boulogne.
