scolopax
I have recently recived a coupe of e-mails from people in my contacts list (but not contacted for a year or two), one of which just contained a link to new 'wonder drug' diet pill. I did not open the second mail and deleted it. Then I recived an e-mail from myself (I'm also in contacts), which likewise I deleted. Just thinking about it now a week or two later I am suspicious somebody/thing has gained access to my hotmail account ? If they have would just changing my password rectify any problem ? (and how do you change the password ?) Apart from the three e mails in a week a couple of weeks ago there has been no other suspicious activity since, junk e mail is still consistent at 2 or 3 a day. 88b
Every spam e mail I get via a contact , they have a hotmail account without exception. I'm told changing your password solves it until next time.
Bry-M
Could well just be spoofing your email addy so it appears to come from you. Still, no harm in checking your computer for virus's, malware and keyloggers though, then changing your password.
Hornet 6
It had to be hotmail, just mark them as spam without opening them. Any genuine contacts you can e-mail and tell them to change their password, or better still get a decent e-mail account. Neil.
shaun4860
It happened to me last week everyone in my address book got an email about working from home microsoft closed my account because of the "unusual" amount of activity I had to get in touch with them and change my password. Touchwood its been ok since Dont know if EVERYONE got the mail before they closed it, Northumbria police did though....
