MC
One week to go guys, I hope you have all been practising. I wonder how much money Mungler has spent trying to hit that battue?
Mungler
None as yet, however, I fear that you have been tapping my phone because only yesterday I tried to get a sneaky 1 hour in at 4 p.m. with the course pro (professional that is, keep it clean) Tracey, however, she was double booked. I was going to go Saturday but I have been invited to a driven shooting day, what what hey ho. Can't wait. I shall have my battue lesson next week and I shall prevail. MC
I wouldn't say no to a brace or two of partridges I assume that is what you meant by a driven day. Go with Stuart Clarke at the Fennes, he will get you hitting them. Oh dear have I let the cat out of the bag
Dunkield
I guess the ultimate irony would be if the pro couldn't hit it either
MC
I think you ought to make the pilgrimage to Essex Stuart, perhaps you could show us. Go on you know you want to.

MC
I'll even buy you a bacon roll if you come. And that is to Stuart, not all of you.
Dunkield
Thanks for the offer Martin, the food sounds tempting, but you boys are all better shots than me, so if you can't hit it I am I am sure I can't either. Just don't let Mungler be the only one to smack it, I have a feeling we may never hear then end of it

lurcherboy
Pedro, The clue was in the 1st post, but in case you missed it, As several expressed an interest in shooting at Braintree again, I would like a show of hands for the 23rd september. 9.00AM start LB, It wasn't an old card, it was my latest one. I knew that already LB Mungler, I hope you aint taking this 'event' too seriously as you might find my ghetto blaster at level 11 (thats 10 plus one) doing motorhead a tadge off putting. Just thought you ought to know. LB

Markio
Where about's on site do you meet? I've not been to Braintree's ground before. I'm guessing where the bacon rolls are served? What colour carnation should i wear on my lapel?
MC
There is really only one place to meet which is the building where you get the counters from. But yes you need a pink carnation and a rolled up copy of the times.

Markio
so we are meeting at 9!!!!!! ive just found out its 70 miles without using the m25 (which im not meant to be using because ive only been driving 2 weeks  ) thats going to take me days! Maybe not days but certainly 4 hours. I think most journeys tend to work out at 50mph average (at least my car says so) so maybe you only need 1 1/2 hours? (Bit more if you stick to speed limits which i'm sure you will! ) Best get to bed early on Friday, you don't want to be tired after getting up a 5am. Mungler
Nick, Just set off early or find someone that can drive the M25. Alternatively if you are worried about driving on the M25 then a few stiff drinks will calm your nerves
dunganick
its not me who is worried about the m25, its just one of the rules set down when my old man bought the car and paid for the insurance. Damned unreasonable if you ask me  I might steal the GPS, raid the piggy bank and drive on A roads.
