Cranfield
I wouldn't disturb a Landowner/Farmer on a Sunday, unless you see him out and about. No point getting off on the wrong foot.

Devon Fox
Most of my permissions are old fashioned and sunday is a day of rest where they do the bare minimum work, they also would not be happy with anyone shooting on a sunday! bide your time i would say! the hitman
I agree with cranfield , if you see the farmer out and about on a sunday , then take the opportunity and ask. The farmers i know differ alot , one will say pigeons eat on a sunday so shoot them , another will say , shoot as many as you like , but give them a day off on sunday. One of my best farms , belongs to a retired colonel , who i was sitting next to me in church ( honestly) , he knew my dad so i waited until he was outside and asked if i could shoot one of his fields . The reply was a yes , i think he was surprised to see me in church ( i was having my bans read ), that probably swung it for me.
caplock
Always find it best to wait until he/she has just settled down to Sunday lunch after doing the morning chores then go knocking at the door. Always gets a result so long as it's not permission your after and you never know you could learn some new rural swear words
DaveK
A farmer once said to me when asked for the best time to call: "When that gate's closed, all the land behind it is my back garden. Call when it's open" It was always closed on a Sunday. Dave
