huffhuff
Click Settings>General>Network>Data Roaming>Switch to off This is dependent on version of iOS but will be in that general area. Enjoy your holiday

Breastman
Without wanting to sound dim Does turning that off abroad mean you can't access the mobile internet?
huffhuff
Without wanting to sound dim Does turning that off abroad mean you can't access the mobile internet? Yep, exactly that. No racking up data/internet charges by checking email and facebook! You can simply go back and turn it on, check your email and then switch it off again. Best thing would be to get a bolt-on/package from your provider which reduces cost. By chance, I just received one from o2 and they will give me unlimited data whilst in Europe for a flat fee of £1.99 a day! Bargain

HDAV
Its not a proper Satnav program unfortunately, just the Maps app Worth havign a look at the app store as they have dropped massively in price and the proper navigation apps like tomtom are much much better
Breastman
I us NAvFree which i personally think is better than my TomTom satnav as it gets updated for free, but it only coveres UK and RoI. Might have a look for a European one though
HDAV
Co pilot live is £25 for western europe. TomTom iphone app gets free updates too! £50 never bought a sat nav been using tomtom on phones for 5+ years! still have an old version on an old phone as back up! Have the tomtom cradle which IMO is a must much better GPS and charges the phone as well an OK handsfree too

huffhuff
Am I better to turn off the "mobile data" too I checked and the data roaming was already off It should be ok as data roaming trumps mobile data. But hey, I'm a belt and buckles man so switch it off just in case.
