Problem with HW100

Had a problem with my HW100

Sighted on a pigeon should have been a good head shot.....pellet went about 8 yds and the noise from the gun increased significantly.

Did some checks and yup came to the conclusion that the breech seal had failed.

Never stripped one dwn before so was resigned to a big bill to get it fixed, however being curious I thought could the pellet be clipping the silencer. Tried to unscrew it and the entire barrel started to turn.

Did some googling and decided to check the grub screw that locks the barrel in place. two and a half turns loose?? tightened the grub screw, put evrything back together.......guess what, everything tikkity bo. Chrono'd it, down by 0.2ft/lb to 11.5........can live with that.

Main reason for post is I have seen a few from people who think the breech seal may be shot.....check the barrel before doing anything else.

i ave shot guns, center fire rifles, fac air rifles, but i just love useing that hw100 for some strange reason, down at our gun club the other day at 36 yards i shot 6 flys out of 10 shots. ive friends who ave daystates, styers, them all and they cant do groups over and over again like the hw100 can. ime not saying there the best gun ever, but there accuracy to me is serious...just as yet down at my club its unbeatable...
