poontang
I'm off out to annihilate the local pigeon population soon, but I have a problem. I forgot to take a few birds out of the freezer last night for my magnet/floaters. I took them out about 6.30 this morning but they're still frozen solid. My question is...can I defrost them in the microwave for a few minutes (bearing in mind there's lead pellets in them) or am I likely to ****** up my microwave? Your thoughts would be appreciated gentlemen.
chrispti
If tried it before, for the amount of time needed to defrost them enough, it practically cooked them and they fell appart.
Blunderbuss
Go for it. If you overdo it you've got lunch sorted - bonus! I know when I once put a gold rimmed china tea cup in a microwave, there was a bit of a fireworks display as sparks arced off the rim. As any pellets will be inside the birds I'd have thought that less likely. Whack it on for a few seconds and listen/look for popping and sparks. If none I reckon you'll be OK
pegasus bridge
put them in a bag with a hot water bottle.
poontang
Right, after reading the above I'm going for it. I'll do them for 2 mins at a time until they're 'softer'. What could possibly go wrong!!
poontang
Well hurrah and huzzah...it worked. They do however STINK.

Pigeon_snIPer
Maybe a hair dryer will work next time, but dont get too close or you might have a barbecue :-)
gamekeeper1960
Im sure on a day like today if you put them out on the field for 1/2 an hour they would soon defrost and I dont think the pigeons will ever notice
