Axe
Just to clear any misunderstanding, forum modertors DO NOT have access to Private Messages and are unable to edit any messages sent or received. We would also like to remind members however, that the auto-censor applies to Private Messages as well as the Pigeon Watch Forums.
dazza
If its a private message why is it auto censored?
Axe
Thats a question for Admin but I suspect its to do with the way the Invasion Software works. Moderators can not make changes to the 'mechanics' of the forum.
pin
There is a mod admin can install which will stop that happening, but then it could be at his choice that is happens now
markbivvy
censor applies to Private Messages perhaps the name should be changed to . not so private messages.
Cranfield
I suspect that PigeonWatch has the basic auto censor software, that most Forums have. This automatically works right across the Forum , including PM's. Although there may well be a mod available to alter things, I doubt if it will be seen as a high priority. If people want to swear in their PM's, just put a space between the letters. This matter has never been a problem in the past and does not have to be a problem in the future. Axe's post was only made as the question was asked, "Do Moderators moderate PM's?" It is right that members realise we have no access to PM's, nor do we want , or need, to have that access. markbivvy, the auto censor is a computer software programme, not a person. pin
This forum uses Invision Power Board (IPB) Standard feature of this software is a "bad word list". Admin places the words he/she doesn't want to see in a text file and they are replaced with *'s automatically when you press post. Happens without mods intervening. There are more comprehensive ways of dealing with this issue and this board may well be using one of them.

It might also prove be a useful way to expand one's vocabulary :( :yp: :yp: :o :o :/
Wookie
Or we could suggest new ones to put on the list!

Ofc teal can then just edit the db... you all fell asleep, didn't you...
