PhilR
I've got a Disco TD5 fitted with the above tyres in 235/70/16 size. I've twice recently got punctures just on the shoulder of the tyre where the main tread meet the sidewall, the latest is a jagged tear. The tyres all have bags of tread life left and I've got three sound ones and want to replace the duff two. They need to be an All Terrain as it is used for getting around the farm shoot, currently like the Somme in places, and is also my daily driver. Any suggestions? I've seen on the bay tyres from a company call Event (not Event Tyres the mobile tyre fitters) that have a similar tread pattern to AT2, anyone got them? al4x
Have a look at these, looks like you could get the new grabbers for £95 and I'd be tempted to change an axle pair and then do the others as required . If you are after a cheap option they also do a copy of the BFG AT at £20 less or so but are remoulds. The upside is they are at the top of Barton cutting off the A6 so not far away. http://tyresdirectuk.co.uk/shop/search.php

Hi Phil Text me exactly what you are looking for and I'll get a price from my brother who is in the tyre trade. Doesn't specialise in 4x4 tyres but I can but try for you. He also does a lot of second hand export for tyres, would you be interested if he has what you are looking for? Being used I know the normal pitfalls but I trust my brother would only sell them if he is 100% satisfied himself. Let me know if I can help Cos
BrowningDJC
I just bought a new set of at2's from a website called camskill, worth a try.
PhilR
I've looked at most of the tyre websites including Camskill. Whilst I've been happy with the AT2 in many respects two sidewall punctures is disconcerting. I've decided to buy a pair of BF Goodrich All Terrains, they have triple ply sidewalls so hopefully that should put an end to that problem. From what I've been told by people in the tyre industry the BFG AT was the first and best tyre. It would seem all others are cheaper copies and there's more to it than a similar tread pattern. Dr_evil
I've sliced up 2 BFG's offroading, wouldn't touch them again Maxxis are far tougher IMO and have a warranty on the sidewall too so if you cut one offroad they replace it
Alycidon
BFGs are better but in my Disco ( an ES) they did not make them. I put a set of ATs on 115,000 miles ago, I have lost 3 to punctures, two recently, both rears in 2 days !!, the 4th has about another 5,000 in it.
