il cacciatore
What do you do with old cartridges that have gone rusty? Is it dangerous to cut a cartridge to take the shot and powder out?
Lord Geordie
You CAN but it is advisabvle to take them to the local police station Once the base of the cart gets rusty it generally means it's going to be weaker than it should be and as such shouldnt really be used though i know people who have 15 year old carts they use with discolouration on the base. Personally i would scrap them (hand in at PS) The MAIN concern is the Primers the powder is slow burning and not much of a cause for concern on its own. The Primers are the dangerous bit. NEVER try to disasemble rimfire rounds or Centrefire rounds either As far as i am LEGALLY aware it is an offence to disasemble preloaded carts?? I may be wrong but if i am no doubt someone will shout out LG
al4x
clean them up and use them at clays, if one doesn't go off just make sure you don't open the barrel for a minute or so and keep it pointed in a safe direction.
henry d
You also face the danger of the head being ejected but the case remaining in the bore or chamber, then the next shot may be your last
