travelled 65miles up to the marsh yesterday to meet a fella from batley who was up visiting the marsh while having a holiday at the same time,i could not get up anytime but the said mentioned day and I told him I would be there then....anyway when I arrived there was know sign so I left the guy a message telling him were I would be on the marsh but he never showed and did not reply to my message :/ thanks for that buddy! From now on can I just say please don't put my name forward as that is what happened, for me to take fowlers out when they do that,i would not have been there on that day normally as the weather was not that clever for fowling but I said I would be there, as it went I used £15 of fuel and my time and I never fired the gun.....I am all for helping people out at lindisfarne but from now on if you have taken a permit out just turn up and if am about I will be more than glad to help  cheers fellas Robbie.

Poor effort that mind. I live 5 mins from Lindisfarne and would be poked if soeone didn't have the manners to call and decline the offer of a free guide of the marsh.

You live and learn.

yeh happened twice last season people telling me they were put onto me by members of the watch....it wont happen again.

"well this goes out to the red ford fiesta guy at lindisfarne this morning if you are on the watch....you now who you are and should be ashamed of yourself for ruining this mornings flight for some friends of mine.....if you dont know what your doing ask for help  :/"

Maybe an explanation of what happened will help.

All your recent posts just make you appear angry.

5th November low water for Holy Island was just after 7 :30 according to my tide tables so most likely there would be regular morning traffic using the causeway creating an equal disturbance. It must be a regular occurance vehicles using the causeway at dawn and dusk when tides are suitable.

I'll clear this up, it was my day he ruined. Around 3/4000 geese lifted off the island at 7:05am. This guy in front of me walked off the sand and across the causeway at 7:10 am as the rest of the Islands geese population started to flight inland. The majority were too far north of my position but a skein of around 50 were coming towards me he stopped and watched from the causeway. The geese did fly over me but had gained far too much height for a shot. Then to rub salt in the wounds he got on his car and sat on the first passing point and watched the rest of the flight, if he'd had a phone call and had to go, fair enough, but he was hardly in a rush.

The incident was reported to the warden and I suggested a bit of education. I didn't appreciate a wasted 160 mile round trip, a 3:30am start and a **** day off work. The wife didn't appreciate the mood I was in either cos I was a mardy *** when I got in.

Fortunately for me this has been my only negative experience from another Wildfowler but I know Dawntredder has experienced a few marsh cowboys this season. I'd have had a good morning without pulling the trigger if it had not been down to something that could have been avoided, but never mind the cars packed for the morning.
