mad1
Lol that's what I do for a living lol It's not too good with sharp knocks as it can chip if under stoved and due to the pre treatment which is a phosphate and drying in a 160* oven and cure in a 180* oven any seals or moving part tolerances could be a prob But if you wanted it doing I could happily do it for you ?? s4s
if your not fussy on colour wipe it all over with loctite rust remedy.it darkens it slightly ,stabalises rust .and if done right no marks .no probs to handle wipe with oil as normal.besides this and other afore mentioned not much else. -Mongrel-
If it's not an expensive gun, I'd paint it with smooth Hammerite or similar. Indeed I resprayed the barrel of my fowling gun, a semi auto Beretta shotgun with high temperature paint and it's been fine for a season. demonwolf444
i had a BSA mercury ( being refinished atm ) that was in poor condition, i used it stripped to bare metal for about a year, just oiled it after use, soo if you like the polished steel look just keep her well oiled. If not ive seen good results from plastikote... but have no personal experience of it.
