jam1e
Yet another one of my "I wonders" I know about floating the barrel but I'm intrigued to know if anyone has "bedded" the action on their rimfire, and did it increase accuracy at all? atb Jamie
drut
Yes I have bedded the action on my CZ452,no it did not make it more accurate per se but before the bedding its accuracy varied greatly according to action screw torque.Zero was also lost if stock was bumped/removed/refitted,I must admit I bought the synthetic stock version thinking it would not be affected by the elements etc.& didn't expect these variances,so I read what I could & came across a post by "Hornet 6" (to whom I owe grateful thanks) on Rimfire Central describing bedding the synthetic stock http://www.rimfirece...ad.php?t=233570 .Followed the method & gun keeps accuracy/zero without having to waste ammo tweaking screws/testing.When I trawled through the CZ section on Rimfire Central I got the impression that some guns shot well "out of the box" while others needed tweaking, although I am delighted with the results on mine I would have left well alone if it hadn't given me any problems
jam1e
Thanks Fister and Duncan. I know very little about bedding and there is obviously more benefits to it than just accuracy.

cleaner4hire
I did mine, mostly to see how easy/difficult it was incase i wanted to do a more expensive rifle later on. I also pillar beeded it and removed the barrel mounted screw (452 varmint). Not really seen any change in accuracy/consistency but I do get a warm fuzzy feeling when i use the rifle!!! As a process, as long as you are patient and thorough with the preparation and check, check and check again that you've used enough release agent its simple. Dekers
"Generally" no need on a rimfire unless you have a dog of a gun, deep pockets and a lot of time and patience.
jamiedenny
now I want to do it just to learn, a replacement stock can't be too expensive if it goes terribly wrong.
cleaner4hire
if it goes terribly wrong you can always dremel it all out and start again!!! Just make sure you dont stick the action to the stock.....
Dekers
now I want to do it just to learn, a replacement stock can't be too expensive if it goes terribly wrong. I seem to remember about £170 for a plastic CZ rimfire stock last time I checked.
jam1e
Any good ? Never had any probs with mine so not thought about doing them. Seems easy enough, a little bit of ability, keep checking the youtube link or instructions and alot of Patience should do it nicely! At the moment i'll leave mine with a tuned trigger and floated barrel...
Bazooka Joe
I've done a few, I action bedded a Semi 22, & couldn't see a lot of change. But with my Bruno Mod-2, I bedded the whole length of the stock, & to me it did make a difference.
