The foxes keep coming...

As the only foxes around here are all lamp shy, baiting continues to be the most productive method.

With time at a premium for me at the moment, I'm not getting much rabbiting done, so I decided to try tinned fish as a bait. Pouring the oils from the fish on a telegraph pole about 6' up distributes the smell fantastically, and the foxes appear to find it irresistible!

A static lamp doesn't faze even the most wary fox, and they happily and obligingly trot right in. This has yielded five foxes in five outings for me in the past two weeks, all taken just after last light.
