Bigstu84
On opening a box of catrages I have come across one that has not been crimped properly at the bottom, all of the shot has fallen out. Is this safe to just throw in the bin or do I need to dispose of it another way?
Katash
Probably best not to throw in the bin, dunnow what happens at refuse sites but potential crushing / burning may set the primer off in a dangerous manner - you could deal with it in a few ways, remove the wad and powder then touch off the powder outside with a match - assuming its modern nitro-propellant and not gunpowder it will just flare up (make sure you stand back if you are fond of your eyebrows) then you just have the problem of an empty primed case to deal with. I have read WD40 or oil will destroy a primer if left to soak into it, but to be honest I'd just pop the empty case in a gun and fire the cap off .... But be careful, the resulting bang although will not be as loud as a full load will still be noisy. BRAD1927
as long as the cart is empty and poses no threat then just throw it on a garden fire it will explode but just stand back alternatively fil a bucket full off water andleave it to soak for a week or so thus rendering the cart useless
Big Mat
Just shoot the thing and be done with it. Its only a cartridge with no shot on it, not some special explosive or something.
Sandbank
Cartridges with no shot ..... more common that you might imagine, least that's what my recent scores seem to suggest.
