smirff
This is my first year wildfowling , I have been lucky enough to join my local wildfowling club , I have been out every week lol and so far I've managed a mallard, a greylag and two wigeon. I have been using gamebore 3" mammoth shells number 3s with a quarter choke, here is a pic of last nights wigeon, I made some wigeon whistles from spent cartridges seemed to work ok. smirff
Tweedledee I joined islandmagee/larne lough Wildfowlers im from Carrickfergus ten minutes from the house. Mpk if you look on youtube there s a couple of videos showing how to make them, basically you heat the brass end with a hot air gun or candle, remove the plastic wad, knock out the centre cap, then work out how to get them together I peened the edge over of one head slightly and pressed them together in the vice. They take a bit of getting used to but you can blow or suck them I think they sound ok.
.philmypower.
Great shooting, wonder if you could answer a question for me. I've been trying to make myself one of these whistles but once I get to the stage of knocking the old primer out I seem to bend the brass case making it useless, any ideas? smirff
What way are you trying to knock it out? You need to hit it from the inside out, I find it comes out very easily, I give it a light tap with a punch then pull it out with a pair of pliers. Search you tube.
