Harnser
Now the clocks have gone back I start getting out on the fields at first light . Still doing well over barley stubbles . On one field of about 50 acres just after dawn today I estimated there to be about 1000 birds coming in . I was there at first light and my buddy turned up at about 1100 am as he had some business to sort out . I had 47 in the bag when he turned and we shot through till 3-30 pm and we picked up 93 with several birds lost in the forestry woods behind us . The best shooting was for the first 3 hours of daylight and then it started to slow down . Harnser . Catamong
Yep, that's usually the way over Winter rape, you've got to be there before dawn to get the best of the sport. Cat.

Quite, What I have seen is the birds are still picking on the stubble, however what I shot most had berries and rape. Early doors is the key as you will blow a good shoot by starting late as there is so much rape around and with the birds in good size flocks they will lift off and find a quieter field. What I saw was birds flying high looking for feeding birds (my decoys) they peeled off in 3’s and 4’s and decoyed very well. Nice bag Harnser.....
