I have been told not to use plastic wads as they can got stuck in the barrel ? mate it is a case of try as many types as you can i have tried 3 x 2" 4 x 21/5" and 3 x 3" and pattern tested them all i found 2 of the 21/2" grouped well hull 11g 6s and layvale 14g 7s the latter grouped the best though they may not be too good on crows. these were all done in my hushpower, my mate has my old 410 not silenced and we pattern tested that the other day and the 2" 9g 6s were best in that. we found that 3" magnums by fioccie to be the worse in both guns hope that helps colin
stubby
yeah plastic wads can get sliced on the internal holes in barrel, giving weird shot dispersal and a rattle inside the silencer, I've owned both the 410 and 12 gauge, think its a good little gun for mooching around woods, hedgerow etc, the fox was shot inside a live catch trap Edited November 3, 2012 by stubby

It`s not a case of whats best for the gun, remember that an average 3" .410 at 16gm or so has half the amount of lead in it a 30-32gm 12 bore cartridge, therefore will have, broadly speaking, twice the size gaps a 12 bore has. If you want to shoot at 30+ yds then get a 12 bore.
