silverhawk
I done the barrel on my shotgun and it has held well.I do practical shotgun shooting and the barrel gets so hot you cant touch it and its never burned off or changed colour from the heat. I also duracoated my partners ruger 10/22 in pink ..Dont buy the gloss black its too shiny if you want black go for the matt finish it comes out a nice semi matt finish. With duracoat its all about the prep work.the better you prep the parts to be done the better the finish. RangerDave
Thanks for the link Silverhawk (just ordered some) been looking for this stuff for ages now, and want to give my 24 year old Sako a makeover, as the barrel bluing is wearing quite a bit where my moderator fits (an over barrel PES) Do you think the paint layer would effect the fit in a glass bedded action? this is also 24 years old and a DIY job I did in a Brown Precision fiberglass stock (one of the first in the country) and one I was quite proud of at the time, would hate for it to be too tight a fit and have to do it all over again! Dave PS. What degreaser do you use pre paint? Edited November 8, 2012 by RangerDave

My only concern is the degreaser (as £19 + p&p seemed a little steep for there's) can you tell me what there's consists of, does it say on the bottle? Will Poon
Thanks for that, just wanted to check as this is expensive paint to get wrong! its all painted now all the major parts all sprayed up my first attempt at this kind of stuff, I've thought ahead and masked off areas that will be taken apart a lot so the duracoat won't chip as easy, I'll leave it broken up for the next few days to cure more, even though the manufacture says it can be used straight away. Here are some pics of the parts, I'm going to put aftermarket parts on this trusty remington as my friend has come over from America with some parts :D
andy198712
How thick is it do you think? Looks nice! How long will it last where the pump slides?? Will Poon
Not sure the thickness of the spray job but it must be quite thin as you can still make out all of the markings in the barrel , As for the pump slide part my guess it won't last that long but I've seen lots of people doing the same spray job on their pump actions on YouTube with this duracoat stuff, it's not a paint as such but a chemical treatment that will fully harden in about a few weeks time I've got an ATI Tactical Talon stock and forend with scorpion recoil system and a UTG Picatinny scope rail mount to put on , I'll post some pics when it's all up and pumping :D Edited November 12, 2012 by Willpoon
