keg
Morning all, not sure where this sits so here is as good a place as any. Been invited shooting as the post states but cannot find my normal chokes anywhere. Is it acceptable to keep my extended ones in that i use for clays?. Thanks Keg
PhilR
I use my extended Teague chokes in my Beretta, as others do, on my syndicate shoot. Screw in the chokes you're happy with (quarter and half for me) and don't worry. The other guns you're shooting with will be more concerned that you're a safe and sporting shot, if they don't know you, than a little bit of metal sticking out the end of your barrels, that's if they even notice them. Have an enjoyable day. Edited November 8, 2012 by PhilR
huffhuff
As above, I shoot with my Mullers sticking out (ooh err misus). It's more important that you are a safe, competent shot and only take birds with a sporting chance... Have fun...and take a tipple to share round (in moderation of course)
margun
Several guns on shoots I've been on think extended chokes are 'chintsey', a bit Essex / chavvy....depends on the shoot I suppose.
keg
Replies much appreciated, shot a couple of weeks ago with them in and no one batted an eyelid and it's a private shoot belonging to a friend that i am shooting next. He is new to shooting so probably won't notice. The tight yorkshireman in me does not want to buy 2 new ones just yet, sure the others will turn up somewhere.... Thunderbird
If someone has been kind enough to invite you to (what can be) a very (very) expensive day out, presumably based on the good relations they have with you, the last thing they will worry about is your extended chokes. I would not give it a second thought.
al4x
As said its not likely to be an issue, but just make sure you shoot ok or you may just get a little bit of stick for all the gear and all that
