lees
I'd have thought you'd be alright if you mount it on its back/side and bolt it to the joists rather than just the boards. But if the wall is solid and you are fixing it to that then why are you worried about the floor?
jimmyb79
Four rawl bolts into the wall (providing its brick) and a couple of coach bolts into the floor and it won't be going anywhere.

86inch
As others have said, i asked my FEO if i needed to fix to the floor aswell as the wall (my floor is concrete). He said no - wall is fine. I fixed mine with resin and 10mm studding. Its going nowhere!!!

bedwards1966
Has to be to a brick wall pal , that's what my FEO said to me. Your FEO is wrong/making it up as he/she wishes. There are no requirements as to how cabinets should be fixed - or even that you have a cabinet. They must be secured securely to prevent access by unauthorized persons - take a wooden house, screwing it into the wood is perfectly acceptable. If you've a brick wall it should be fastened to it, but there are no set requirements. Edited November 11, 2012 by bedwards1966

station
The wording is 'Fabric Of The Building' so wooden joists, studding, bricks, blocks, concrete etc. Obviously, the more solid - the more secure. ATB.
Therealchucknorris
Yep, mine's out of sight in a cupboard but fixed to an internal wall (new build as well). My FEO was more than happy with it and it's nice and secure. Edited November 11, 2012 by Therealchucknorris
