Catamong
Get the Jack Pyke Floater set and use a dead bird, these are not that good. Cat.
chrispti
I glued some real pigeon wings to my flying decoy wings, then stuck them into a full bodied decoy. Stuck some tail feathers into a small piece of corrugated card, then glued that on also. Had a very good pair of decoys for the rotary for a good couple of years. Bobba
I've made my own floaters using jack pike wing sets. They're shape is fine and they're very durable. However, their colour pattern looks nothing like any wood pigeons I have shot so you will need to paint them. I use acrylic paints mixed with fullers earth to stop them shining. Patterns and colours can be got off a dead bird or google images of pigeon wings.
alros01
I got one of the jack pike floaters just cheap **** the pigeon flips over in the wind.i got some chris green floaters took one apart to see how it was made cause his do not flip back in the wind because the metal wire that the decoy is on has a bend in it that stops the decoy from flipping back so I copied this and glued the floating rod together because the jack pike rods are two piece Edited November 28, 2012 by alros01
DEADLY PLUMBER
Ive got two and they work quite well. I found a lack of instructions with them. So with a bit of trial and error i got hem working. Just the way the rods go. The wings ive altered by making the white bars a bit bigger. They dont look quite as good as Chris Greens but they are half the price. Their are othrs out there i think may be very good also.
