Anonymouslemming
I have a few boxes of plastic wadded cartridges to get through. I currently use a 1/2 choke with my fibre wadded cartridges. Should I be changing this for the plastic wads, or just leave it as is?
MAL S
leave it , it will be fine
BerettaEELL
Good luck with the fibre, I do not change chokes when shooting fibre. The only issue I ever have with natural wads is the sharper recoil, luckily I have a decent recoil pad which helps after putting a 100 or so through. I use fibre as my normal cartridge - I've only shot plastic wads a few times and didn't notice too much difference. The joys of the semi I guess ... Of course, with an O/U, you don't have to run around with the magnetized broomstick after each stand
HDAV
Plastic will pattern tighter but so much as to have a real impact on your shooting worth comparing a Couple of carts on a plate with both wads if you get chance
grousemoor
In theory plastic wad carts will give a tighter pattern. I shoot both plastic and fibre (depends where I'm shooting, whether the venue insists on fibre) but almost always shoot 1/4 and 1/4 with a 682 gold e
Tam
I thought it was a myth that plastic grouped tighter & actually fibre did - or is that shot string
EdSolomons
Most plastics throw tighter. I have yet to see a fibre throw a denser pattern but not to say it doesnt happen. Im not a fan of shooting at pattern plates as i find it dull as dishwater and of very limited use in the real world. Have a pop with a few and see what the kills look like.
