LondonLuke
But I'm asking it anyway! I know that as a normal sgc holder I cannot post or courier a gun but an RFD can. But how does an RFD get a gun from one place to another?

Airguns may be sent royal mail special delivery . All firearms can only be sent via RFD both ways as far as I am aware.
LondonLuke
Thanks guys. Guess they must have a special account or prove they are RFD. Just wasn't sure quite how it worked

kdubya
here ya go seems that royal mail are actively trying to ban the carriage of firearms (as they did in 2005 which was blocked) cost me about a tenner in insurance at the time and transfer fee. http://www.royalmail.com/despatch-inward-mail-services/hints-and-tips/prohibited-goods
al4x
Basically some couriers will take section 1 and 2 weapons, parcel force and TNT are the main ones. But to get an account that let's you send them you need to be a rfd. Rfd's can also arrange third party collections from individuals

All firearms can only be sent via RFD both ways as far as I am aware. I send parcel force all the time. They even have a deal in place through the Gun Trade Association. Anyone can post a section 1 or 2 firearm to an RFD. We recieved three muzzle-loading revolvers from an FAC holder a few weeks back. J.
