hardcase chickens

On one of my permissions the farmer has ten thousand chickens in big sheds, they are allowed outside access if they want it, but only a small percentage bother to go outdoors! These seem slightly different in their attitudes to the majority although they are all the same breed. I was leaning on the fence post watching them on Sunday afternoon and they were in little cliques of half a dozen or so, suddenly a rabbit hopped under the fence, and then another joined it! The nearest bunch of chickens ran at them and seemed to mob the two bunnies and soon saw them off! Is there a chicken fancier on here who could tell me if this is a common occurrence? I will certainly think twice in future before calling someone a 'chicken' these chickens were hard enough to get in to the SAS I reckon! :good:
