Hushpower 20 bore cartridges???

Hi, had my single shot hushpower a while now, and just wondering if using subsonic cartridges make them much quieter. Iv seen quite a few mixed reviews about them, a lot Saying they make no difference to noise! Could anybody recommend cartridges they have tried and found to be good? Thanks

The best cartridges i have used are the Eley 2.5" fourlongs... non-subs.

in my .410 there is no difference wit subs or normal load in 3''

2.5 '' is much quiter

have used 2.5" normal loads in my mossberg hush 410, and no where near as quite as a 3" sub sonic

Have a trawl through for posts by Sitsinhedges. I think he runs a 20 bore hushpower. He may have a couple of suggestions though he probably loads his own.

And remember, what counts is how quiet they are in the next field. They may sound quieter to the shooters ears, but doesnt mean the are quieter some distance away. If I remember rightly, on the saddlery & gunroom website they have db measurements comparing different cartridges. Might not be for 20g but will give you some idea.

This thread was probably started because I had put 675 20g Hushpower cartridges in the other sales section at a giveaway price and the OP made an enquiry about them.

 

Truth is I prefer my homeloads and that is why they are for sale, if you do want the 30g no5 20gauge Gamebore Hushpower cartridges you wont find them anywhere near the price I am selling them at, ie, £5 a box.

It was just a general question mate. I'd have liked to have all the lot off you, but bit too far, what with fuel costs etc.
