pavman
had problems with the sky TV, called up the service centre number and was on hold for over an hour, having spent 10 mins pushing buttons for option this and option that, Hung up and called make a payment number guess what within 20 seconds got an operator! Made a complaint and bitched and moaned about service and the nice lady is giving me a free service visit (if they turn up) The moral as with most of these outfits is more effort is put into getting your custom than looking after you Its all wrong
pin
It is all wrong, thing is its one of these "everyone else does it" things so the market kind of self supports this appalling behaviour. Mind, some companies have cottoned on to this and are starting to differentiate themselves by not doing this, and winning some business doing it. pav
Might be something to do with that Golden Eye Satellite you have in the garden getting thousands of sky channels free (mainly porn)
Lord Geordie
What annoys me most of all is when you ring a call centre and you can't make out a WORD they say due to a very strong indian accent and poor english Or the ones who call you on spec with again a strong indian-pakistani accent and start the conversation with "Hello my name is GEORGE" My initial reaction is " I don't talk to Liars whats your REAL name" To which MOST reply with their TRUE name. Try it I tend to hang up now the moment i hear a foreign voice. If it's important they will ring back LG
Highlander
What really gets me going is BT…the only comms provider in our area only they don’t I keep getting junk mail and see the tv advertising from them about their wonderful broadband packages, phone deals etc which as it happens I’d like to take advantage of BUT they can’t actually do it for me as the lines/hardware are so ancient and **** they don’t work properly. There’s so few customers in this sector they won’t upgrade anything just for little old me CUSTOMER SERVICE…that went out the window ages ago, there’s no such thing anymore. Hey I can see their thinking…when you’ve 1000’s of customers signing up every day and 1000000’s more paying into your account every second of every day it’s easier to tell the odd few with a problem to FO than try to service them. Funny though that incoming junk calls/e-mail etc from all over the world seems to get through all right! Even looked at satellite connectivity but that’s damned expensive and doesn’t give the service either so what’s a country boy to do??? Just another example of how those of us who choose to live in the countryside get kicked in the teeth. Still not all bad…I get a regular post delivery 6 days a week at 06.45 and you can set your clock by the postman. There’s not too much traffic (except when you grockles come in the summer) and the nearest neighbour is so far away we can dance the night away (highland flinging it) without a call from the noise police. pav
What are you on about Highlander? I have the BT Home Hub and Phone on option 3 and it is brilliant. All of my calls in the evening and weekend are free using VOIP and I have a 4meg connection. What you need to do is get rid of your VHS backup system Give Ronnie a call and he will sort you out, he will tell you the best deal for you, how far away you are from the exchange and setup all your phones etc.
Paul in North Lincs.
I know the feeling......I 'used' to bank with HSBC call the credit card on day..to get this guptee asking me about Eastenders and the weather only to find out he was in Gualaumpo!!!! If that wasn't bad enought..when I relayed my ID No- over the phone he cocked it up 3 times which resulted in a security breach, and me being without any phone, or internet access to my account.........needless to say I am now with RBS...@ least you can call direct to the brabch still! ....
