al4x
thank you for a direct answer, not for me Iam afraid I was hopeing for wild deer on a large walled estate that may show a challenge and not fish in a barrel, good look selling them 200 acres its highly unlike fish in a barrel, its not stalking though its about getting hands on experience of taking a beast from field to table and as such is pretty much guaranteed to cull so very different to wild stalking. I had a day elsewhere doing it and when you are learning the ropes it is ideal.

Your comments are stupid and unhelpful as I clearly state in the advert " I can not take you stalking" you only read what you wanted and came to your own conclusions. I have no problem selling the days and for the Beginner or novice stalker it is perfect. It is not aimed at the experienced stalker ant it is clearly states this in b&w print. To all that have enqired thank you. Andrew

The fish in a barrel bit was the smart comment - this day is the sort of thing I am looking to book as I am a complete novice to stalker and so have an opportunity to learn the whole process in a day without the time and cost of stalking with no result. bi9johnny
You said you were looking for wild deer on a walled estate, the post stated in the first few lines it was not offering deer stalking but you found it appropriate to ask the " how big is the pen" silly question. If you had read it right you would know this wasn't for you so therefore there was no need for you to comment simplzzz Also I don't have a problem so jog on big boy

To all that have enqired thank you. Andrew I have read your advert carefully, hence why I asked how big the pen was, this isnt a stupid or unhelpull comment.havnt your ever been asked this before ?? I do knoiw what culling is but I have tried to be as polite as possable by saying in only 200 aces its not for me.why dont you just leave it at that. I must say though it is nice to get a honest answer on the size of the pen,you would be surprized at the lies some people try to tell you. best of the luck with your cull. al4x
Its a pretty big field, no different to a park, both have fences and farmed rather than true wild deer that is the difference, the pen part came across as a dig from where I was sitting. Jesus christ,I asked a simple question.get over it.your doing your mate no favours trying to sell this.Oh and theres a big difference to a pen and a park,Woburn Abbey is a park,Studley Royal is a park,Chatsworth is a park. "its not for me" now just let it go yup pens you rear cattle in in buildings, 200 acre deer enclosures are a reasonable size, having been on a cull in a 200 acre DEER PARK I can assure you they are far from simple. Not my cup of tea really but you have park deer and wild deer even the larger parks have things called gates and can shut them into smaller areas. This is an educational opporunity not sporting stalking, I'm waiting till the Bison get advertised as that should start even more discussion anyway anyone interested have a look on the stalking directory I'm yet to hear of anyone who doesn't find this a good experience, under the name buckbones if I'm not mistaken with plenty of feedback
big chop
its well worth doing before dsc then you have an element of knowledge already and you almost understand more dsc wise. you have level 1 then may I ask how this day helped you Edited February 18, 2013 by big chop
al4x
I've not done this day but level 1 isn't practical in terms of performing a gralloch you only see pictures, so being talked through each stage under a park situation is ideal. The facilities are usually pretty good so you get to gralloch, inspect the various organs and nodes etc and then get the deer into the chiller in a state that can go to a dealer all under expert supervision. This takes it one step further and goes into butchery as well so basically for a beginner it builds confidence in doing the shooting to getting the deer into the freezer

al4x
so have you passed level 1 Yes thanks. As for people who sign up and then mostly look like they are just having a go at an advert on here there is usually past history or an axe to grind in this case it certainly seems that way
