matty*
Not realy sure if this the rite place to put this but not sure where else to ask it??? My friend shot a white woodie the other week, and just noticed a post in the sporting pics of another white one. I remember hearing a game dealer talking of a black woodie still with white wing bars, has anybody on here ever shot, seen or have a picture of a black woodie??? Just intrests me. Thanks for looking. JDog
I have never seen a 'black' wood pigeon though I have seen and shot leucistic ones.
DEADLY PLUMBER
Ive shot a white one with a bit of brown on it. As it pitched into the tree above me i shot it. As it landed not far from me i thought ide shot a Barn Owl for a second. One of those oh my god moments. When i had a close look at it. It was a proper woodie. Size, shape & markings the lot. I dont think it was a feral cross. Never seen one before in 35 yrs of shooting.

lakeside1000
In Spain the people who keep feral pigeons paint them with all sorts of colors and patterns, maybe someone has been doing the same with your woodies, never seen anything like it in all the years ive been shooting, although I have seen blackbirds with large white patches, must be throwbacks to ancestral misbehaviour.
