Swadlincote Rifle and Pistol Club

Recommended Posts

Thanks dk6052.

I have never done any target shooting before, but had a day at Minsterly last week and enjoyed it.

Is Swandlicote the sort of place I can just turn up and see what goes on?

I assume I need to be a member to shoot?

I enquired a couple of months back, you can turn up and have a look round on either sat it sun morning but to join you need to know an exsisting member so i didnt bother in the end and went to birmingham

So you can't join unless you know a member?

I'm a member of 2 other clubs (part running one) and although it is nice to have potential new members introduced by current members, it's definitely not compulsory - how strange if true !

Just turn up on any sunday you will be shown around and given a form to join , its a very friendly group of members but like anywhere there some who arn't as nice as the could be.

I have been a member for seven year along with both my sons.we all enjoy it there.

you can shoot 7 days a week once you have finished your propationary time and if you meet club requirements you will be allowed to shoot high volocity on the 1 hundred meters range.

I went to a club about 18 years ago and was not made welcome at all - it was a case of "you're going to take our range time" !

Eventually I joined and we still have some of the old school, but thankfully the vast majority of us make all welcome.

Sorry for not getting back sooner, as said above the best days to go along are Saturdays or Sundays. I did not know anyone there but one of the chaps there offered to sponsor me. You have to be interviewed by the commitee before and after your probation period and after which you get a key to the range so you can go whenever you want.
