Heppy1148
Being brought up using normal full bodied decoys, does using flock coated decoys make a big difference? Any advice welcomed in order to improve my bag numbers. Cheers all Heppy
young gun
I've never used them but their supposed to be good as they mean the decoys won't shine if there's strong sunshine which can put the pigeons off as real pigeons obviously don't shine there also supposed to look more realistic when the pigeons get in really close and stop them spooking at the last moment. I've never had a problem with normal decoys though even with the suns on the decoys. They may be effective over an area where pigeons are shot at a lot and can wise up to normal decoys. Cranfield
They are obviously non reflective when wet, or on very bright days. I have quite a few full bodied and shell versions of them. However, I also use cheaper good quality rubber/plastic decoys in the same layout and I can't say that I have scientific proof that the flock coated ones work better. They certainly look more realistic to the human eye, but to a pigeon half a mile away, I'm not so sure.

Highlander
Nearly everyone swears by dead birds as being the best decoys but flocked are as close as it gets to the real thing and without the inconvenience and the flies. All my decoys are flocked or (secret ingredient) matted.
