Blackpowder
I am delighted to own a WRPape in this case ejector shotgun. Pape was known as,"The Purdey of the North" and seemed to have specialised in box locks even for Best guns, no doubt someone will have seen, owned or handled a WR Pape sidelock but I have never seen one, or even one ofered for sale. Good luck with the sale, that will still be shooiting 100 years from now. Blackpowder

Blackpowder,I`ve seen 3 Pape sidelocks.one a very early hammerless 20b,the other two, like most Papes, were ordinary trade made guns.Nice nontheless. Blackpowder
Cheers Matone, Having owned my Pape for ten years or so I always follow up any Pape adverts I see, so will keep a better lookout now for those sidelocks. Blackpowder
matone
One of them was #1 of a pair and belonged to Lord Joicey I think it was.
Blackpowder
Had a look since your first post Matone and found several Pape sidelocks for sale , some were on an American site I think. Years ago as a young apprentice I saw a Ford keeper on his rounds with a cross over stocked gun, it had been a late Lord Joiceys gun and was now an Estate gun for a beat keeper.
