Billy.
I use these for dispatching rabbits. They work every time.
JKD
The thing is, the karate chop method wont work when they get tangled up like that, thats the whole point. I wouldnt mind having an air pistol to plink with anyway so as long as i can find one for £60-70 im ok with that. Im talking about when rabbits get so tightly curled up in a purse net they cant even kick anymore, and can take several minutes to get them out to neck them. If they are dead, it is alot easier to get them out, because otherwise as soon as you manage to get the net loose a bit, they struggle again and get it tight. Really, i will probably only dispatch about 4 rabbits a year like this, its mainly to play with, BUT i want to be sure that the one i get has the capability for when i do go ferreting. cheers Sounds like a good enough excuse to me then Pete, if you want another toy to play with

southeastpete
That i want it for the times when rabbits are so curled up and tangled in nets that you cant neck them and it takes a long time to get them out of the net, so i figure to reduce the suffering i can just quickly shoot the rabbit still in the net, drop it on the ground, re net the hole and carry on. My hands also work for dispatching, but when they are that caught up, it can take a long time and i am just looking for a better solution
Billy.
For a person who killed 34 rabbits last year, I think your hands will suffice... I'd give you the benefit of the doubt if that number had a couple of zeros after it.

southeastpete
Aww cheers Paul. I don't get hundreds, but trust me I can swiftly dispatch a rabbit, just find it a pain getting them out of the new when they get in there real tight

bullet boy
The Weihrauch HW45 is the best pistol for dispatching IMO!
GingerCat
The hw45 is a great pistol, wish I had kept mine, the old style tempest is about 50-70 quid second hand and almost as much fun. Would easily dispatch a rabbit caught in a net with a head shot and be fun on tin cans plinking. Not anywhere near as accurate as the 45 and not quite as powerful either but over 4ftlbs
