Window rifle rest

Bored this weekend nothing to do so i thought i would make a few shooting related bits and bobs. The first item i have made is a window rifle rest it has made for my disco its made from 22mm copper tube and its been soldered together with the relevant fittings for the job the rest has been made slightly longer than the window channel where the glass runs up and down. The ends have been crinped using a vise and a piece of 6mm scrap metal so as not to crush the tube completly flat and when you take the 6mm scrap metal out of the tube you have the perfect channel fit so the rest can slide up and down when you operate the window. The reason for the slightly longer fitting is because when you fit the rifle rest into your window apature it goes in at an angle the when the ends are in the recess you straighten it up for a perfect fit and when you operate the window the rest goes up with it and the rifle rest will not fall out.On the rest there are two load bearing arms which hang down onto the door which take the weight of the rifle. And finally the rifle rest has been covered in 22mm tube insulation and doesnt mark the vehicle in any way. This is the design i have made for my disco but other models of vehicles would hane to be made slightley different i would of thought but realy the same princioles would apply to a different construction.
