dazzyboi
Went to look about the woods that i have permission of, also had a full look inside the woods (yes i do have permission) and there are pigeon feathers and pigeon poo everywhere, so i think this will be a good roosting place!! hell, i even had a chance at some pigeons this morning, but i still think i need some practise on some clays as im still yet to bring down a pigeon from the sky. On my trip though i had plenty of squiirel activity, total count being 4 but one was a runner. 2 dropped from the tree stone dead, the other i had bolting for a tree, got him at around 30 yards, i hit him on the ground, must have scared the hell out of him cos he ran up the tree after being hit only to get half way up the tree and drop stone dead to the ground without even flintching. Could have had some chances at some rabbits aswel but i left them be as we have family down this weekend didnt want to bring back the rabbits. Bit of a shame about the missed pigeons, i still feel i need some practise as these woods are going to proove some exellent roost shooting. Im going to try and roost shoot from inside the woods as there is one very large open space (See pic). There is also plenty of space to set-up outside the woods too. Pics are in sporting pictures. Seeing as iv bought home 3 squirrels and 2 rabbits from the last handful of carts iv used i cant be that bad of a shot. I did go down the club and do 100 clays, instructor thought i done really good. Until im able to book another afternoon off work...yes thats right..i have to book time off work to visit the clay ground... i will, i was infact planning to do this soon as i enjoyed my last session down the ground.
