Mario
I went out on Saturday on a partially snow covered rape field in Bedfordshire. I did wonder if I was slightly mad for giving it a go given the weather forecast but got in position at about 1.30pm which was the earliest I could get out. I saw pigeons were coming into the far end of the field from some nearby trees on another farm so I set up at the end of a hedge which was the nearest bit of cover to where they were coming in and hoped to decoy them to me. Unfortunately they took no notice of decoys and just carried on coming into the field about 100 yards to my left and landing in the far corner of the field next to the road. If it had been earlier in the day I reckon I would have done well to move right under their flight line out in the open but it started to snow and looking very bleak so I had to pack up. As I drove away there were hundreds of them coming into that spot next to the road.
Passionforangling
I was out locally yesterday afternoon from about 2.00pm until 5ish. On a snowy covered rape field with a cold wind blowing my friend shot pretty well as birds came into a lovely oak in a little dip just out of the wind. I was in the wrong place but we ended up with 29 birds..mainly to his gun I should add! Then had a pleasant evening out with Highbird....but he will tell that story..... Nice to be out though....beats doing household chores that's for sure!
