Hello, I have been looking at one of these today a franchi falconet s game 12g 30" m/c new. what are the opinions on them? the isn't many reviews on the net. It looks a well made gun, my main shooting which is walked up requires me to have a nice light gun and this one fits the bill perfect.

Thanks

There are the old falconette and the newer ones GMK are the importers for franchi to the UK but are more concerned with selling Beretta and Lanber so dont import many Franchis or submit them for review (which is a shame) there are other light 12 gauges worth looking at Winchester 101 lightwieght and beretta ultralight depending on budget.

Where did you find the new Falconette? There are some reviews in the US and other markets

Shame malmo is so far away I think £700 new is a good price other than perhaps a bettinsoli 20 bore I don't think you will find anything else that light for that money 2.65kg I would like to feel the balance of these really.

My guess and it is just a guess is that being so light particularly in the action that the 30 M/C tubes will make it feel barrel heavy which isn't great a heavier gun balanced further back will soak up more recoil and while heavier to carry will feel lighter in the mount. If they have a shorter barrel model I would give it a try. Some lead in the stock can rebalance the gun further back and reduce recoil but will add weight.
