speed controller problem

Recommended Posts

Sounds like there is some sort of thermal cut-out and the load from your magnet is too much for your particular speed controller.

Invest in a Magtime controller and you won't be disapointed. More expensive than most at £29 but a quality bit of kit.

Some on ebay say they are no good for home made magnets,, what i use is a 12v car bulb its a good resistor for slowing your magnet down,, you got to try a few different types to get the right speed,, my mate uses a halogen headlight bulb but Ive got to use an indicator bulb,,

SO THERES A TIP FOR YOU A BULB MAKES A GOOD RESISTOR,

and if you use enough of them u can make a runway lol

I got one from A1 decoys and did exactly the same, worked for 5mins and then stops. This was used on an AA magnet. I would definitely go magtame for a speed controller, or i just left mine going flat out, if the pigeons want to feed there it wont matter.
