busa2003
Right ladies and gents, I'm knocking up a couple of home made floaters/bouncer out of some spare fibre glass tent poles and was wondering what decoys would people recommend to use? Also is the much difference in having the poles in front of the decoy or behind? Cheers
Greenhunter
Last question first......technically the rod mounted behind makes it a bouncer. The rod mounted in front is a floater. It is possible to get the bird to move more, depending on how you mount it, if the rod is attached in front. I would recommend a full-bodied decoy, either flocked or not. Personal preference really. Get a decent set of wings and tail and you're away! GH
sitsinhedges
I made a couple of floaters out of flocked half shells. Bought a few sets of foam wings from AA decoys. Yesterday when I was setting one up I realised I had brought 3 wings and no tail so I just stuck the spare wing up its ****. Seemed to work OK I ended up with a record bag for me
