suggs
well as ive decided to change my Bentinsolli i though id pop into to Essex Gun and try out the 68's and 525's its going to be a Beretta for me, i just didnt like the Brownings when i had a close look and feel. so i looked at a silverpigeon in a 28inch barrel, it had superb wood fairly light for walnut with a stunning grain (im in love) and it felt just right, also it has a finger grove in the forend grip which i also like this i was told only comes on the 28inch version. I also tried the 30inch version which also had nice wood but just not like the 28inch had, also found the 28 felt better to me. Would i be sorry with a 28 though, as im wondering how ill be with it on long distance shots, although im sure i will adapt and learn with what ever gun i buy as im still new to shooting. also tried a 682 E Gold which felt well ballenced and is obvioulsy a better sporting gun, but at £500 more than s/p not sure i would really benafit from it, also i didnt like the look as much as the siver pigeons. best news is Essex Gun are such a superb shop, they are giving me a full refund on my Bentinsolli againts a Beretta, thats very genuine of them as they could have just gave me trade in money even though i only bought it 2 weeks ago.. i need to make a decision quick as the 28 could sell and i may not find another with such a nice stock.. cheers

chrisv
Yes the 682 chokes only fit certain guns, but they do fit some of the Silver Pigs, it has to be one with the Optima barrels which some of the new ones have. Not sure if it's only the sporters or ones in certain grades? You should find Optima-bore stamped under the fore-end and the bores should be 18.6mm (or very close to this.) dunganick
if you want extended chokes you can always get non optima ones. People like teague will offer very very good extended chokes to fit the standard mobil? chokes These chokes will throw a very good pattern. But this is based on 1 gun, so by no means true for all of them.
the last engineer
nothing wrong with the optima chokes in a berreta, any loose fitting can be taken care of with a little dry lube, or graphite lube, stops the losening, as a choke its more than comparable to the teagues/brileys of this world, i know Nick favours the aftermarkets as i do myself, but ex'd optimas i have found pattern better than most factory tubes, and are certanly cheaper. my optimas i spin in with a flick of the finger's , one spin their in  a sharp twist and their out .
