diddy Posted May 6, 2013 Report Share Posted May 6, 2013 what is the best way to do this as the rape is just above knee high i can see where the pigeons have been at the edges but with the rape being that high they wont see my decoys? any tips? fenboy Posted May 6, 2013 Report Share Posted May 6, 2013 You really need to be shooting the poor or bald patches , you could try putting your decoys on canes but doubt you will have much success. Norfolk Ern Posted May 17, 2013 Report Share Posted May 17, 2013 They are still coming into a couple of bald corners where I shoot. We have a massive acreage of rape planted in my area, it was really hard work when it was really short as there was so much choice for the pigeons. Now it's tall and in flower, the few bald patches left are reaping better bags. The low patches are big enough to set out a pattern and in some instances depending on wind direction, I can set the deeks out along the tramlines. I have some long sticks if I need to put some deeks out in the higher rape though. Also found the gas guns have gone from the field, which has helped.
