bullet boy
Got a Nikko Sterling 6-24x56 Nighteater scope on my HMR.Its lovely glass for the money IMO.
Gimlet
I've got a 4-12 X 56 Meopta on my HMR. It never goes above 8 power even to 180 yds. Bright glass is far more important than high mag for me. If I was buying another scope specifically for an HMR I'd buy a fixed power 8 X 56, or a 7 X 50. S/H Meopta, S&B etc. You can pick them up in your price range. Or you could look for a S/H Duralyt if you really want vari-mag. All these scopes are keepers. They'll cut it on a CF and they'll whack a £200 new scope in low light. Incidentally, if you're zeroing at 120 yards, check precisely how high its shooting at 70 and zero high at that range in future. Its a lot easier to see what you're doing and you're far less likely to find yourself chasing wind errors.
cal 7888
go for a Vortex with a BDC reticle! the reticle was made for a HMR! zero in the centre at 100, next mark down: 150 next down: 200 and the final one: 250! jamiedenny
Mtc Mamba light is a cracking scope on my hmr. +1 great scopes, Hawke as well I picked up a bargain bushnell which is just fantastic but they usually retail out of thy range. Go to an rfd with lots of options and spend time looking through the glass and checking eye relief.
jay222
Falcons are well worth a look at that sort of money
joe soapy
Mtc Mamba light is a cracking scope on my hmr. Its OK but very heavy. why spoil an easy to carry HMR by loading it up with unnecessary weight. The CZ with just a small mod and 6x40 scope is a joy to take for a walk. load it up with a bipod and mamba scope and 10 shot mag, its a fair lump after a couple of miles

bicykillgaz
Edgar brothers opti-mate scopes are great for the money and can be picked up a lot cheaper than that, I've got a 6-24x42ao on my hornet and think its great. Also got an optimate 6x44 on my .22lr and love that too.

CROWalYeLikUrDEAD
What about the brand "red" it's made off leupold.. The American scope and its a 3-9x40 and is £250? What's the best reticles do yas think? Too thin and too thick become problems for me
the enigma
Checkout Nikon Prostaff scopes. I had 2 of them, and they suit the hmr down to the ground. Good quality and lightweight. BDC reticle's good if you want to push out to longer ranges.
