Thedeerman
Have you tried 130 and 150 Prvi? I have got good results with Winchester Supreme ballistic silvertips in 130 grain, but went to buy some more from anothetr shop as my local RFD had sold out and nearly died. £48 for 20!!!, I'll be settling for the 1 1/2" group I get with Prvi's!! goshawker
it was the 130grains i tried in the prvi, ive found a dealer that stocks almost every brand in 270 so i will call to him but he was giving quotes for some rounds £48 + for box of
Harnser
A two and a half inch group at 100 yards is not very good for the .270 . I used one for many ,many years and tuned a home load that would group half an inch at 100 yards . Having said that a two and a half inch group at 100 yards is more than enough accuracy for shooting deer out to 300 yards . If you want to shoot only factory loads then you will have to bite the bullet ~(no pun intended ) and keep buying different makes until you find one that will shoot smaller groups . Harnser . matone
Is it the rifle that can only shoot 2.5 " groups or the man behind it? If you know you can do better fair enough.
Vince Green
If its a brand new rifle the poor accuracy might just be 'shooting in the barrel' problems. Make sure you clean it regularly every outing with copper remover. Despite its detractors Privi is good quality ammo, your rifle may not like it, that's another matter. A bit of trial and error is the only way.
goshawker
Well I think it will be a case of trial and error with rounds, how many shots before the barrel is broke in? As its a brand new rifle, that could be a factor, I know the problem is not me have shot a friends 243 and 308 with really good groupings. Vince Green
Just clean with forest bore foam after every time you shoot it and over time the barrel will polish up fine. The first hundred rounds or so shed copper onto the surface of the barrel but a proper clean is a good habit to get into

goshawker
Vincent do you use rods and jags or bore snake after using the bore foam
Bewsher500
the bigger the cartridge the less likely it will shoot cheap or budget ammo (IMO) I have 3 .270 and have shot the cartridge almost exclusively for 25 yrs up until 3 years ago. premium ammo for magnum cartridges is always going to be expensive, twice as much brass and powder to start with. I started reloading as a result of the cost of a box of 130gr norma .270 ammo (the best IMO) for £50 you can equip yourself with a Lee Loader some basic case prep tools and reload to sub MOA performance. You will get your money back on the hardware in less than 50-60 rounds This was my first load with N160 Hornaday Interlocks CCI200 primers any decent once fired brass (I actually have some new Remington brass for sale!) loaded with a 4.0cc scoop and seated to just above the crimp canulure 135yd target you don't need a physics lab and a white coat to outperform factory ammo and make magnum rounds for 35-40p each
